Hi! I'm Arundhati Rao, a fashion designer based in Mumbai & Goa.
I believe good design is a creative solution- one that's function-first, earth-conscious, and rooted in textile craft.
I don't start with the silhouette. I start with the fabric and fiber, that's where a garment's character and function actually begin. The design comes easily once the textile knows what it wants to be. But looking good and functioning well isn't the finish line, I think about marketability from the start. With me, you get more than a designer, you get someone who considers the full chain, from fibre to final sale.
Outside of work you'll find me in the kitchen baking or cooking something up, or dancing off the week at a Latin socials night. I'll also stop to pet every dog I cross paths with, and nap any chance I get, earned or not.
